Orbit — Terms of Use
Last updated: October 14, 2026
These are Orbit’s plain-language terms. By using Orbit you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Orbit is an independent, hobby project made by Quesz (kw3z). It is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
1. What Orbit is
Orbit is a companion app for discovering, exploring and keeping track of anime and manga. It includes discovery roulette, a connections map, a personal list with favourites, a journal, details pages with reviews, stats and links, an airing calendar, episode reminders, a profile and an optional AniList connection.
Orbit is not a streaming or reading service. It does not provide episodes or chapters. Streaming and external links open other websites or apps, which have their own terms.
2. Your account and AniList
You do not need an account to use Orbit. If you connect AniList:
- you must follow AniList’s terms and rules;
- you are responsible for your AniList account;
- Orbit only reads your AniList data and does not change it;
- you can disconnect at any time, in Orbit or from your AniList settings.
Orbit is not affiliated with or endorsed by AniList, MyAnimeList, Fanart.tv, Jikan, AnimeChan or any studio, publisher or rights holder.
3. Your content
Your list, favourites, journal entries and notes belong to you and stay on your device. Please keep a copy of anything important, because data on a device can be lost if the app is removed or the device fails.
Reviews, activity, replies, avatars and quotes shown in Orbit are written by other people and provided by third-party services. Orbit does not create or moderate them and does not endorse them. They may contain spoilers or opinions you disagree with.
4. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use Orbit to break the law or the rights of others;
- try to disrupt Orbit, the services it uses, or other people’s use of them;
- attempt to extract data in bulk, bypass limits, or use Orbit’s access to AniList in ways AniList does not allow;
- copy or redistribute Orbit’s code, design or branding as your own.
5. Notifications
Orbit can show local notifications, such as episode reminders. Air times come from AniList and can change or be wrong, so a reminder is a convenience, not a guarantee. During testing, a test notification may appear every minute until you turn it off in Settings.
6. Third-party data and availability
Anime and manga information, images, ratings, schedules, themes and quotes come from third-party services. They can be incomplete, delayed, rate limited or unavailable, and Orbit cannot control that. Features that depend on them may stop working at any time.
7. Adult content
Some titles are marked 18+. They are hidden by default and shown only if you choose to include them. You are responsible for that choice.
8. Intellectual property
Cover art, logos, titles, characters and other media belong to their respective owners. Orbit shows them only to help you identify titles. Orbit’s own code, design and name belong to its developer.
9. No warranty
Orbit is provided “as is” and “as available”, without promises that it will be error-free, always available or suitable for a particular purpose. It is a hobby project and may change, pause or stop.
10. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Orbit’s developer is not liable for losses arising from your use of the app, including lost data, missed episodes, or reliance on third-party information. Nothing here limits any rights that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes
These terms may be updated as Orbit grows. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use Orbit after an update means you accept it.

Plain-language note
These terms are intentionally written in plain language because Orbit is a hobby project, not a giant corporation with a 47-page legal department. They are not meant to waive any rights or obligations that apply under applicable law.
